One of the largest expenses in any typical school IT investment is the skilled technicians required to roll-out and support systems. Whilst many education authorities benefit from technical resources at headquarters and other key locations, there is often little resource available to individual schools.
However, employing technicians at each school site is simply not feasible, and sending them on a tour of remote locations to deploy technology is inefficient. Developing schools need the simplicity and efficiency of ‘plug & play’.
Education authorities don’t just need their schools to be able to deploy easily, they need that deployment to be as quick as possible. Where schools are already subscribed to internet services, or student have already been provided with devices, the time lost before students get online can waste that investment to date, and delay the benefits of e-Learning schemes.
