Tagtel double play for triple play
ApplianSys today announced that Tagtel Communications has purchased a DNSBOX300 master and DNSBOX100 slaves for managing its DNS, together with multiple CACHEBOX230 units to improve internet access and performance.
Tagtel Communications is a Class ‘A’ Internet Access Provider in Zimbabwe, with a mandate to provide triple play services (Data, Voice and Video) to its customers. As a startup business, the shareholders wanted tried and tested DNS devices for their DNS and IP Management services as well as web caches to reduce bandwidth use by its customers.
“Despite tenders from other vendors, DNSBOX was chosen ahead of competition for its quick ease of deployment and a user-friendly interface for DNS management” said Chris Masikati, CEO of Solutions First, the ApplianSys partner in Zimbabwe. “It was great that ApplianSys could also provide the ideal web caching solution that Tagtel were also looking for. They wanted to be sure that as the number of users grew, there was not an immediate demand for more expensive bandwidth.
“As Tagtel had chosen Cisco equipment running WCCP, it was very easy to deploy the CACHEBOX230 units in a cluster. This provides high availability and resilience from day one, as well as a scalable upgrade path for the future.”
Tagtel Communications are part of the Pecus Enterprises group based in Zimbabwe.
