US Water Agency taps into easy DHCP
ApplianSys is pleased to announce that Imperial Irrigation District (IID), a public utilities agency in Southern California, has chosen DNSBOX to achieve a robust, highly available DHCP service.
Previously, IID used an ISC DHCPd solution to handle DHCP requests for its 1,400 employees. But with each employee accessing the network from multiple devices – PC’s, desk phones and mobile phones – the server’s performance struggled to cope with 5,000 connecting devices.
In addition, Information System Specialist Alejandro Pereida found updating DHCP configuration on the existing system time-consuming and error-prone – making it all the more difficult to ensure a reliable DHCP service.
Alejandro wanted an appliance solution that would guarantee high availability as well as help him manage and simplify day-to-day DHCP administration.
After reviewing alternative solutions online, he contacted ApplianSys for a DNSBOX demo. Delighted by its clear and easy to use GUI, logical workflows and helpful automated tools, he purchased a pair of redundant DNSBOX200 DHCP servers to provide an ‘always on’ DHCP service.
“Thanks to DNSBOX’s robust automated tools, Alejandro will cut his DHCP admin time in half, if not more,” says DNSBOX Product Manager Magdalena Jovanovic. “With IID’s complex DHCP service simplified and easy failover in place, he can be confident of ensuring high network availability to the agency’s many users.”
