CACHEBOX for S Aussie FEEST
ApplianSys is pleased to announce that South Australia’s Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST) has purchased two CACHEBOX310s to replace existing web caching servers that had reached their end of life.
DFEEST provides services to around 80,000 students through a network of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions across the state of South Australia. These sites generally benefit from high capacity internet connections, but growing demand for data intensive content including YouTube video were putting a strain on their network.
“Web caching at DFEEST had previously been accomplished with a very expensive multi-function server, for which caching was just a small element,” explained Head of CACHEBOX Sales Roger Clark. “When they decided that they needed a more powerful, focused caching solution, CACHEBOX was the obvious choice.”
The Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology is the South Australian Government’s agency responsible for driving employment, skills development, research and technology in the State. Its goal is to grow a vibrant economy and socially inclusive community by developing the State’s workforce, skills base and lifelong learning opportunities, and by building the research and innovative capacity of South Australia.
