Al-Malak Telecom saves bandwidth
ApplianSys today announced that Al-Malak Telecom has selected CACHEBOX to help it save bandwidth on expensive Fiber and VSAT links in Iraq.
Like many service providers around the world, Al-Malak had been investigating web caching as a way of lightening the load on links and was looking to deploy open source Squid caches in particular.
“We have seen customers fork out thousands of dollars to build a cache server and at the end of the day simply throw it away because they couldn’t maintain it,” says Ali Al-Khairalla of mSolutions, ApplianSys partner in Iraq. “A badly configured Squid server will eventually slow down your Internet rather than speed it up, something we see very often with many of our ISP clients here in Iraq.”
Following a demonstration of CACHEBOX’s easy to use interface and caching performance, Al-Malak engineers were so convinced they would make huge savings on administration time as well as bandwidth that they ordered CACHEBOX immediately.
