CACHEBOX440 brings 2.5x performance
ApplianSys today announced CACHEBOX440 – its highest performance CACHEBOX model yet.
Responding to ever-increasing network demands for larger objects delivered at faster speeds, CACHEBOX440 is specifically designed to serve high throughput ISP, enterprise and education networks.
A single CACHEBOX440 appliance can handle 2-3 times the amount of traffic of our previous top model, CACHEBOX420. But – at significantly less than twice the price of CACHEBOX420 – this model delivers great value for large network cores with heavy traffic loads.
CACHEBOX was one of the first caches to use SSDs over 10 years ago. Since then, basic caching has become increasingly difficult to do, and HTTPS has been a game-changer.
In response to this, ApplianSys engineers have blended different caching engines in CACHEBOX for best possible performance with modern traffic. Now, the caching architecture has evolved further in CACHEBOX440 to better support multi-gigabit networks.
This 2U rack-mountable model heavily utilises SSDs to store cached objects, delivering them at high speeds. In typical traffic scenarios, a single CACHEBOX440 appliance can handle up to 12,000 HTTP requests per second, supporting more than 25,000 users over multiple gigabits of connectivity.
“Our ever-greater dependence on connectivity means that networks must support growing numbers of users connecting to more online resources and bandwidth-heavy content,” comments CACHEBOX Product Manager Roger Clark. “With CACHEBOX440, we can help organisations get far better value from investments in multi-gigabit upstream connections, ensuring that capacity translates into faster web access for end users.”
Senior Product Developer at ApplianSys Ben Bass comments: “We are continually developing and evolving the performance of CACHEBOX and improving its capability in response to market trends.”
