CACHEBOX just the Medicine!
ApplianSys announced today that Medicine Park Telephone, one of the oldest communications service providers in Oklahoma, has purchased a CACHEBOX310 to improve services to its growing customer base.
The company was looking for a caching solution to optimise the limited bandwidth available in its rural location. Having looked at other products, it decided that the CACHEBOX310 was a good fit for its requirements and more affordable than alternatives.
Network/Systems Administrator at Medicine Park Telephone, Eli Vaughan says, “I am more than satisfied with CACHEBOX and what it is doing to save us bandwidth. We have a limit of 238Mbps. Before CACHEBOX, we were hitting that upper limit at peak times for at least 3 hours every night. Latency was terrible.
“Since deployment, we have had a nice gradual slope up to peak, and down from peak. The total overall bandwidth on the internet facing interface has maxed at 219Mbps. With the savings, ping times are steady and there is very little fluctuation of latency.”
CACHEBOX Head of Sales Roger Clark explains, “CACHEBOX is great for improving the internet experience where bandwidth is expensive or limited, as in remote locations. Medicine Park is typical of a growing number of rural operators offering a wider set of broadband and communications services. Its customers can now enjoy faster internet access and higher-quality video services.”
Formed in 1903, Medicine Park Telephone Company (www.mptelco.com) provides telephone, fibre and high speed internet services to the business and residential subscribers in the South Eastern Oklahoma in the city of Medicine Park and surrounding communities.
