ApplianSys is pleased to announce that Pickens County, South Carolina, has bought a CACHEBOX solution to support its BYOD scheme and lower bandwidth congestion.

Pickens County has a 2Gbps bandwidth link supporting over 7,700 devices, including student and staff laptops, desktops and interactive Promethean boards.

When applying for E-rate funding, the district’s Accountability & Information Technology Services (AITS) Director was already considering caching.

He consulted with IT Director Bill Finley at neighbouring school district, Laurens County, and was impressed with the significant bandwidth savings CACHEBOX was delivering for them.

He therefore decided that Pickens County too would benefit greatly from deploying a CACHEBOX solution.

Pickens County SD went on to purchase 2 CACHEBOX420s with E-rate funding.
