DNSBOX helps DST unbinding BIND
ApplianSys today announced that DST Multimedia, the leading mobile network provider in Brunei, has opted for DNSBOX to replace its existing BIND-based DNS servers to upgrade its management of DDI. It believes this is essential to cope with a growing workload.
DST wants to start using IPAM for its existing IPv4 address space in any case, to simplify the task, increase control and reduce the risk of errors. With a small local population in Brunei, it is particularly difficult for DST to find people with the right skills to administer DNS manually.
On top of this, DST’s DDI management load is growing in several ways: there is growth in its existing network; it is expanding to a new network at a new site; and adopting IPv6 will cause a further sharp increase in the workload and complexity. DST has deployed DNSBOX400 masters and DNSBOX200 slaves at the current and new sites, as well as spare hardware units for additional low-cost redundancy.
Derek Wong, Operations Manager at DST comments: “Using DNSBOX, managing our DNS is so much simpler now. We are ready for IPv6 and are looking forward to deploying additional DNSBOXes for DHCP/IP management in the near future to support our mobile network.”
“The DNSBOX range combines carrier-class DNS and IP Address Management (DDI) software with a rock solid appliance platform. It is a fully IPv6 ready solution which will ensure robust DNS services for DST and make it much easier to manage a 400,000 user network ”, explains Magdalena Jovanovic, DNSBOX Product Manager.
