Towergate opens for DNS caching
ApplianSys today announced that Towergate Partnership – a specialist insurance provider based in Kent, UK – has purchased DNSBOX200 to support its wireless service to onsite visitors.
Having looked at solutions offering DNS caching, Towergate found that most were unsuitable. Most appliances were general purpose DNS or DDI appliances with a scope vastly beyond simply being a recursive resolver. They therefore were not a good fit for the job. Some specialist DNS cache products existed, but these were typically designed for carrier-grade scale, with a huge price tag. But once Towergate looked at DNSBOX200, it realised it had found the perfect fit. An important detail was that Towergate actually needed the ability to manage a handful of simple authoritative DNS zones on the same device. With some minor customisation, ApplianSys was able to enable this.
“DNSBOX is a fit for purpose, dedicated recursive resolver. Simple, robust, intuitive and low cost. It fits the Towergate requirement perfectly. ApplianSys engineers helped with deployment and the solution was in place a few days after the initial enquiry,” said Magdalena Jovanovic DNSBOX Sales Manager.
