Brusknet brisker with CACHEBOX
ApplianSys announced today that Brusknet, an Iraqi internet service provider, has bought a CACHEBOX solution to gear up for network growth and strengthen its market position.
With a 400Mbps internet link Brusknet catered to approximately 3,000 concurrent users during peak times. Planning to double its number of users, the ISP wanted to upgrade its bandwidth to 1Gbps and deploy a cost-effective, expandable caching solution. This way it could gain a competitive advantage over competing internet suppliers.
Brusknet looked at several caching solutions, typically twice the price or more, but with the best performance and offering compelling Return On Investment, CACHEBOX310 was the clear choice.
“The hardware specification and cache tuning of CACHEBOX310 delivers significantly more performance per dollar than comparable caching solutions Brusknet considered,” comments CACHEBOX Sales Executive Ross Horn. “This is essential for large ISPs who need to cater to an ever-growing number of requests. With CACHEBOX, Brusknet can scale its caching solution as its business grows, rather than buy all the hardware in one go. The company will be able to cluster four or five CACHEBOXes for the cost of purchasing a single competitor appliance. This obviously makes business sense, with better cashflows and higher return on investment.”
“Designed to handle over 2Gbps of traffic, a clustered CACHEBOX310 solution would typically save 20-40% of bandwidth and increase average customer browsing speeds by around 20-50%. Payback period on the investment is usually just a few months.”
Established in 2005, BruskNet (www.brusknet.net) is an Iraqi 4G Wimax Internet service provider. The services offered by Brusknet to its 10,0000 customers include unlimited downloads.
