Hyperia-growth in Nigeria
ApplianSys today announced that Hyperia, a leading Nigerian ISP which first deployed CACHEBOX in 2009 in Nigeria, has bought further CACHEBOX units to help with expansion.
Hyperia was Nigeria’s first Internet backbone service provider, now in its 10th year of operation and is continuing to expand its geographical coverage. As it rolls out to Abuja and Kano, Hyperia has added new CACHEBOX220 units in these locations to ensure customer satisfaction, by offering faster internet access and bandwidth savings.
Technical Director Rahul Sawant says, “Having first deployed CACHEBOX appliances in 2009, we already know the bandwidth savings that can be achieved. This time we selected CACHEBOX220 because its performance specification fits the requirement in these new locations. Having all solid state storage means extra reliability, which is a useful bonus. CACHEBOX220’s solid state disk technology has the right degree of resilience and the required performance at an affordable price.”
Business Development Director Dave Gravell adds, “Hyperia delivers services with VSAT, Wireless and WiMAX as well as fixed broadband. It is typical of larger ISPs operating several types of network with different bandwidth and traffic characteristics, both in Africa and elsewhere. They find it helpful that CACHEBOX offers a wide range of models to suit these different requirements.”
