More communication in Angola
ApplianSys announced today that major Angolan ISP Angola Communications & Systems (ACS) has bought a CACHEBOX solution to improve customer satisfaction.
With a 100Mbps connection, the company’s five thousand customers were experiencing insufficient bandwidth, particularly accessing videos from the internet. ACS deployed a clustered pair of CACHEBOX230 appliances using WCCP in order to cut bandwidth demand and provide a better user experience to its customers.
ACS Technical Director Carlos Carvalho says, “Previously we had a lot of complaints from customers because there was such heavy traffic, especially with sites like YouTube and video downloading. With CACHEBOX we have seen up to 40% bandwidth savings for some of our heaviest traffic circuits. We’ve also got the capacity for more users on our existing connection.”
ACS Angola (www.acs.ao) provides systems for private networks, dedicated circuits for data transmission and internet solutions via satellite technology (VSAT) and via wireless systems (Broadband). Its headquarters and operations center is located in the city of Luanda. Its customers range from private and public sectors including banks, government departments and entities across Angola.
