CACHEBOX Appeals to Six Senses
ApplianSys is pleased to announce that Six Senses Hotel in Vietnam has purchased a CACHEBOX solution to provide faster internet access for guests at its luxury resort in Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam.
Located in a remote bay overlooking the East Vietnam Sea, the resort attracts guests with the promise of a peaceful experience. But they also demand fast internet access. In addition, the hotel’s staff need reliable access to online services.
“We have around 200 clients connecting to the internet at any time, with online video consuming around 50Gb each day,” explains the resort’s IT technician Andy Nguyen Phuoc Phan Ngoc.
Given the remote location, the resort relies on expensive satellite internet connections, paying over $1000 per month for a 14 Mbps link. “Simply buying more bandwidth to meet continually growing demand isn’t financially sustainable,” says CACHEBOX Sales Executive Harminder Heer. “Having already deployed a simple HTTP cache, Six Senses understood the benefit of caching. However, they needed a more sophisticated solution to handle online video.”
Six Seasons chose to purchase CACHEBOX210 which offers cost-effective online video caching and high performance HTTP caching. CACHEBOX will save the hotel bandwidth and, by serving content locally, guests will experience significantly faster access.
Founded in 1995, Six Senses manage leisure resorts around the world with luxury hotels in Vietnam, China, the Maldives, Oman and Portugal. It also runs Spas in dozens of locations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Americas.
