ApplianSys is pleased to announce that St Kitts telecoms service provider The Cable has upgraded its CACHEBOX solution to handle its rapidly growing customer base and increased demand for content such as gaming.

The Cable are long-time users of ApplianSys solutions. Since 2013, it has relied on CACHEBOX to help manage bandwidth usage cost-effectively, originally deploying 2 appliances to offload demand by serving repeat requests for content locally.

In the last 18 months, customer numbers grew rapidly from 5,000 to 7,500.  Expecting similar growth by 2022, IT Manager Colin Norford needed to sustain internet service levels not just now, but well into the future. Colin had also noted an increase in devices per customer. Software and app updates for each, including bandwidth-heavy gaming content, had seen monthly downloads reach 400 terabytes.

Confident CACHEBOX could deliver, Colin upgraded to a higher throughput model and has been delighted by the new levels of caching performance, especially for gaming.
