Boots refreshes DNS architecture
ApplianSys today announced Boots Group has selected DNSBOX to upgrade its DNS architecture. Implementation and management will be done by the company’s IT partner IBM, who were integral in selecting the DNSBOX for their client. Boots will be installing a DNSBOX300 master, DNSBOX300 failover unit and four dedicated DNSBOX100 slaves for enhanced redundancy.
“DNSBOX not only helps Boots eliminate existing DNS headaches, it helps reduce the numbers of servers providing DNS resolution, delivers a vastly improved array of tools to manage DNS and ensures scalability to support increasing demand”, explains Mike Clark, CEO of ApplianSys.
Boots Group (www.boots-plc.com) operates Boots the Chemists (BTC), the UK’s leading drugstore chain with about 1,400 shops in Britain and Ireland. The company’s other core business – Boots Healthcare International – is a leading UK maker of over-the-counter (OTC) drugs such as Nurofen (ibuprofen) and Strepsils (sore throat remedy), and it sells OTC drugs in some 130 countries.
