Boral Limited, Australia’s largest building and construction materials supplier, is now using DNSBOX to achieve secure DNS, fast name resolution and failover.

With critical resources, like the company website, email and external remote access, suffering from an old, slow and failing deployment, Boral was seeking a secure, cost-effective and enterprise-class solution to its DNS problems. Boral has installed a DNSBOX050 master, a failover unit and two DNSBOX010 slaves to manage its external DNS.

“Now we can offer much greater capacity with our DNS infrastructure and we no longer have to worry about six-year-old servers breaking down. And, with our new DNS failover capability, if one data centre is down we can still have external resolution. It’s all seamless,” said Jonathan Walsh, Boral’s IT Security Administrator.

Boral Limited (www.boral.com) is Australia’s largest building and construction materials supplier and has significant operations in the USA and in Asia. With some A$5.2 billion worth of sales, Boral has over 15,900 employees working across 717 operating sites.
