Amnesty intranet set free
ApplianSys today announced Amnesty International (AI) is adding more units to the cluster of CACHEBOXes they purchased previously. The devices are being used to speed up both content sent to their website, and internal web-based applications.
CACHEBOX is very versatile and supports a number of deployment options. In the accelerator, or reverse proxy mode, used by Amnesty, it can support 4 standalone or clustered web servers. By clustering the CACHEBOXes the load is being balanced between them.
“More and more, users are demanding faster access to intranets and third party applications. But buying faster network connections or upgrading web servers isn’t as cost effective as making better use of what you already have,” comments Steven Tee – CACHEBOX Product Manager. “Adding an accelerator like CACHEBOX to the network can improve end user satisfaction and keep your costs under control.”
Amnesty International (www.amnesty.org) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI has a varied network of members and supporters around the world of over 2.2 million members, supporters and subscribers in over 150 countries. To keep in touch with this base they have almost 90 multi-lingual web sites promoting the issues and supporting the charities work.
